PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This unique camp brings together young people between the ages of 7 and 14 who have experienced the death of a parent to discover the healing power of creative play. Through the exploration and creation of theatre, music, dance and visual arts, Hearts to Art encourages communication and collaboration, fosters emotional growth, and provides friendship, compassion, and community. Through interaction with young people who have experienced a similar loss, campers understand they are not alone. AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Healing Counselors (4 positions available) Healing Counselors are preferably licensed practitioners (LCSW, LCPC, LSW, LPC) who work directly with the campers to lead small healing groups 8 times over the 4 weeks of camp (4 times per camp session) to help campers navigate their feelings about their loss and have a safe place to express themselves. Healing Counselors are a contracted position, expected to work approximately 40 hours between June-August. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working with children, bereavement, grief, and working with high trauma populations. They will have experience leading group sessions, working in play therapy, and creating/customizing their work to a wide range of ages, needs, and personalities. They will have a passion for and belief in the arts, if not experience in the arts. The pay rate is commensurate with licensing.

Camp will be held at St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church, located at 5649 N. Sheridan Rd, 60660

POSITION DETAILS
Healing counselors must be available for all Mandatory Trainings, First Days of Camp and Healing Session Days as Follows:
• Pay is $20/h for unlicensed clinicians, $30 for LSW/LPC’s and $35/h for LCSW/LCPC’s during camp and $20/h for all during training
• June 22nd staff training for approximately 5 hours at training rate
• First day of each session – July 15th and July 29th
• Healing Session Days – July 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th, 31st, August 5th and 7th (times TBD)
• First day attendance is from 8:00-approximately 4:00 and includes a healing session
• Other Healing sessions are in the afternoon and are between a 2–3-hour time commitment, though exact times are not yet set.
• Camp Memorials on the second Wednesday of camp July 24th and August 7th following a healing session.
• Shows are every Friday afternoon throughout camp (July 19th, 26th, August 2nd and 9th) This is not mandatory as part of the position, but we would love you to join, watch and support!
