PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This unique camp brings together young people between the ages of 7 and 14 who have experienced the death of a parent to discover the healing power of creative play. Through the exploration and creation of theatre, music, dance and visual arts, Hearts to Art encourages communication and collaboration, fosters emotional growth, and provides friendship, compassion, and community. Through interaction with young people who have experienced a similar loss, campers understand they are not alone. AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Camp Coordinator (2 positions available)

Hearts to Art is looking for a Camp Coordinator to join the leadership team for the 20th Summer
of camp! This position will go from June‐mid August and be one of two positions responsible for
the administrative elements of camp. Their job will include but not be limited to, organizing
campers paperwork, communicating with caregivers, supporting Junior Counselors,
coordinating transportation, organizing supplies, and working closely with the Creative
Engagement Team to assure that all the logistical needs of camp are met. The ideal candidate
will have a strong background in organization and administration, be a self‐starter and
independent worker while also good at collaborating and working with a team, and have some
previous experience or knowledge of working with children and families.

– The position starts part time in June and becomes full time (40/h a week) in July
– June 22nd mandatory staff training for approximately 5 hours.
– Camp Session 1 (ages 7‐10) July 15‐26, 2024, Monday through Friday
Camp Session 2 (ages 11‐14) July 29‐August 9, 2024, Monday through Friday
– One position works 7:30‐4pm and the other 9:30‐6:00pm.
– August 12‐16, 2024 approximately 20 hours of work wrapping up camp
– Camp will be held at St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church in Edgewater. All other noted
dates will be at the Auditorium Theatre.
– Pay is $20/h

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
– Attending, participating in, and implementing all Hearts to Art Training.
– Accurately storing and organizing camp applications and the confidential information held
within.
– Creating and providing daily administrative support to maintain the smooth execution of
camp.
– Coordinating and managing camp volunteers.
– Maintaining professional and clear communication with camp families and caregivers.
– Working courteously and collaboratively with other staff members and guest artists.
– Being supportive, present, and attentive in all applicable camp interactions.
– Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all campers at all times.
– As needed, supervising post or pre‐care for campers.
– Learning and accurately using CampDoc (camp database)
– Supervising during lunch and outdoor time as needed.
– Working closely with the Creative Engagement Team to fulfill the administrative needs of
Hearts to Art
– Working closely with the Creative Engagement Team to implement, document, and create
administrative systems and practices for Hearts to Art
– Creating a fun and supportive environment where campers can grow and learn.
– Attending all scheduled meetings, and remaining prompt, communicative, and organized.
– Communicating all camper and caregiver concerns quickly and discreetly to the necessary
administrative team members.
– Being a role model for campers.
– Jumping in as needed to assist all staff.
– Assisting with Social Media campaign.
– Supporting the Food and Beverage Manager with food and drink ordering, storage and
distribution
– Assisting in the planning and running of JC training session
– Maintaining and modeling the philosophies and values of Hearts to Art and The Auditorium
Theatre, including but not limited to trauma informed practice, equity, and safety protocols.
– Other duties and responsibilities as needed and directed by the Heart to Art Leadership
