Green’s In the Beginning, “explores the excitement of new worlds forming, colliding, and shifting into place.” Adolphus Hailstork’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone and String Orchestra, composed for guest soloist Timothy McAllister, promises a colorful tonal exploration. Finally, Tchaikovsky’s deeply emotional Symphony No. 4, described by the composer as a depiction of the nature of Fate. The famous ominous opening brass fanfare transitions to a bright energy in the finale, bringing our season to its conclusion.
