About Hearts to Art: This unique camp brings together young people between the ages of 7 and 14 who have experienced the death of a parent to celebrate the healing power of creative play. Through the exploration and creation of theatre, music, and dance, Hearts to Artencourages communication and collaboration, fosters emotional growth, and provides friendship, compassion and community. Through interaction with young people who have experienced a similar loss, campers understand they are not alone. Position Summary: Healing Counselors are preferably licensed practitioners (LCSW, LCPC, LSW, LPC) who work directly with the campers to lead small healing groups 8 times over the 4 weeks of camp (4 times per camp session) to help campers navigate their feelings about their loss and have a safe place to express themselves. Healing Counselors are a part time position, expected to work
approximately 40 hours between June-July. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working with children, bereavement, grief, and working with high trauma populations. They will have experience leading group sessions, working in play therapy, and creating/customizing their
work to a wide range of ages, needs, and personalities. They will have a passion for and belief in the arts, if not experience in the arts. Pay rate is commensurate with licensing.
Salary Range: Pay is $20/h for unlicensed clinicians, $30 for LSW/LPC’s and $35/h for
LCSW/LCPC’s during camp and $20/h for all during training.
Schedule: -June/July TBD staff training for approximately 15 hours
-First day of each session – July 5 and July 25 (time TBD)
-Healing Session Days – July 5th, 7th, 11th, 13rd, 25th, 27th, August 1st and 3rd (times TBD)
-First day attendance is from 8:30-approximately 3:00 and includes a healing
-Other Healing sessions are in the afternoon and are between a 2-3 hour time
commitment, though exact times are not yet set.
-Shows are every Friday afternoon throughout camp (July 8th, 15th, 29th, August
5th) This is not mandatory as part of your job but we would love you to join and watch!

Hearts to Art will be held at the Adventure Stage facilities located at 1400 W Augusta Blvd. At this time we are asking all staff, campers, volunteers and anyone involved with Hearts to Art to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof of vaccination will be required upon hiring.
