Fundraising events are critical in helping us to restore our National Historic Landmark to its original glory, showcase unparalleled artistry, and share the arts with our larger community each season. We host a variety of events and gatherings for our generous donors and patrons throughout the year.

Devil's Ball Retired, New Event Launches

After over a decade of memorable moments, the Devil’s Ball is no longer part of The Auditorium’s annual events. Don't fret though because all the fun that made our summer event a success will be apart of crowd-funding competition and best party of the summer - The Bea Hive Bash on Friday, June 6. We hope you can join us for this 1967-themed celebration!

About Bea Spachner, the Woman Behind “The Bea Hive”:
In the decades since its 1889 unveiling, The Auditorium was a wellspring for the finest artistic programming, a glittering jewel in one of the world’s greatest cities. But by the 1960s, The Auditorium had fallen into disrepair and was in danger of being demolished. A handful of visionaries recognized the promise this once-grand venue contained. These civic leaders were led by one woman, Ms. Bea Spachner, who oversaw a monumental campaign to help restore The Auditorium to its former glory.

Driven by Bea’s infectious energy, the restoration work progressed unabated and The Auditorium was slowly transformed.  Finally, on a triumphant night in 1967, The Auditorium was officially reborn and reclaimed its position of prominence in the worlds of arts, culture, and architecture. The Bea Hive is a tribute to our history. It is a tribute to our rebirth. And it is a tribute to our Queen…Bea.

Smart at Heart Trivia

The annual Smart at Heart Trivia competition hosted by the Auxiliary Board is one of our most anticipated events of the year. Enjoy good food, drinks, and great company while supporting a life-changing program. All proceeds benefit The Auditorium's summer camp, Hearts to Art, which helps young people who have experienced the death of a parent find comfort and healing through creative play! Questions cover a wide spectrum of topics, including movie quotes, sports, Chicago history, and so much more. No matter what your interests, there’s something for everyone.
