Broadway sensation and Roosevelt University alumna Courtney Reed returns home to Chicago for An Evening at The Auditorium—a musical journey from the beloved classics of the 1940s to today’s show-stopping hits!
See inside some of Reed’s most iconic performances, ‘Jasmine’ from Aladdin and ‘The Sparkling Diamond’ from Moulin Rouge! The Musical, along with highlights from Carousel, The King and I, Chicago, Annie, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, and more. Reed will be joined by music director Benjamin Rauhala—as well as a surprise performer.
An Evening at The Auditorium, hosted by alumnus and actor Parvesh Cheena,is presented as part of Roosevelt University’s 80th Anniversary Celebration. All proceeds will directly benefit Roosevelt students. In Courtney’s words, “What’s better than live theatre and supporting a good cause?”

Roosevelt University alumna Courtney Reed is best known for originating the role of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s hit Broadway musical Aladdin, earning a Grammy® nomination for her performance. Most recently, she starred as the Sparkling Diamond in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway, after originating the role on its first national tour. Before the pandemic, she appeared in Lauren Yee’s award-winning play Cambodian Rock Band at The Signature Theatre.

Courtney was also part of the closing company of the Tony Award-winning In the Heights (Carla, u/s Nina and Vanessa). She made her Broadway debut in Mamma Mia! and starred in Once on This Island (Andrea) at Paper Mill Playhouse, directed by Thomas Kail.
Her television credits include Liza on Demand, Search Party, The Affair, Law & Order: SVU, White Collar, NYC 22, and CSI: NY. In addition to performing, Courtney is a proud co-producer of Disney Princess: The Concert, which tours worldwide.

Alumnus Parvesh Cheena is an Indian-American actor, writer, and producer from Naperville, now based in Los Angeles.
While studying at Roosevelt University, he made his film debut as Samir in the Chicago-filmed Barbershop and its sequel, Barbershop 2: Back in Business.

Since then, he has starred as Gupta in NBC’s Outsourced, Sunil in the CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and voiced Blades in Transformers: Rescue Bots. His recent work includes Frasier, The Conners, The Mandalorian, and Sometimes I Think About Dying. Currently, you can hear him on Disney Jr.’s Ariel and Disney+’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
A proud union member, Parvesh has served in elected leadership for both SAG-AFTRA and the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA). He is also a member of Actors' Equity and the Animation Guild.
