The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with a wide array of projects and positions to assist the Auditorium Theatre in fulfilling its mission of presenting the finest in international, cultural and community programming to Chicago and to the continued restoration and preservation of the National Historic Landmark Auditorium Theatre.
While you are not required to be a member of the Saints to volunteer at the Auditorium Theatre, the Saints (www.saintschicago.org) coordinate the volunteer usher program at the Auditorium Theatre. Each volunteer arrives at the theatre seventy-five (75) minutes before the show start time. A brief meeting is held to inform the volunteer what his/her position is for the performance as well as basic rules and advice. The volunteer ushers work side-by-side paid staff to provide a memorable experience for our guests. Volunteers then have the opportunity to watch the performance. Ushering positions are coordinated by Dale Kuypers. Please contact Dale at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteer Merchandise Seller
The Auditorium Theatre offers for sale a number of collectable and clothing items during the performance. Volunteer Merchandise Sellers are trained in advance of the performance on how to inventory merchandise and complete shift paperwork. Volunteers sell merchandise during pre-show, intermission(s) and following the show. The volunteer has the opportunity to watch the performance. If you are interested in assisting by volunteering as a merchandise seller, please email us at email@example.com. Please be sure to include Merchandise Seller Volunteer in the subject line of your email.
A Docent will be scheduled for most performances and provides a brief history of the building from a pre-determined script. The docent will be provided much information about the Auditorium Theatre to be read in advance. Volunteer Docents will focus on the architecture and history of the building. The docent will also pass out information regarding public tours provided on Mondays (at 10:30 and noon) and Thursdays (at noon). Docents deemed outstanding may be asked to become an official tour guide for the public tours. If you are interested in assisting by volunteering as a docent, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to include Volunteer Docent in the subject line of your email.
