Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre (CRDT) fuses contemporary dance, live music, and visual art onstage, creating a multisensory engagement focusing on different segments of society. CRDT will be accompanied by noted jazz violinist James Sanders, CRDT Musical Director Stu Greenspan, and Composer-in-Residence/vocalist Joe Cerqua.

Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre is a critically acclaimed, award-winning company that has redefined the term, "performance ensemble." In October, Cerqua Rivera became a founding partner in the American Rhythm Center, an ambitious undertaking based in Chicago’s historic Fine Arts Building. There, a dozen of the city’s top dance and rhythm groups offer affordable classes with top instructors trained in a wide array of styles.
Cerqua Rivera is also dedicated to community programs which show students in underserved neighborhoods how the arts can provide a formidable alternative to violence in conflict resolution. The formula includes in-school theatrical performances and the Cerqua Rivera Youth Ensemble, talented high school students who train, rehearse, and perform with the adult company.
